What to do in Peruibe?

Maybe think! - "Peruibe is so small, do you have cool things to do there?"

In addition to being able to hang out on the beach, there are options for attractions that suit all tastes, ages and budgets. It will certainly make your trip more attractive and fun.

We have enough tours in Peruibe to fill several days of your vacation. Known places and others not well known.

Therefore, my recommendation is that you do not wait until the last minute to decide what to do in Peruíbe. That's because, I'm sure that if you plan ahead, you'll be able to enjoy your rest days much more.

First tip: Enjoy the beaches of Peruíbe

Of course, enjoying the beaches of Peruíbe is one of the best things to do here. They are, in fact, the main attraction of the city.

The beach in the central part of Peruibe is debt for neighborhoods. Some are busier than others, the whole edge has a good structure of kiosks by the sea and parking spaces.

We owners of Casa Mar Peruibe have our preferences for kiosks, even though we don't have a partnership, we really like: Kiosque Terral... But we recommend the Aloha Kiosk and the Jangada Kiosk. They are a great option for families with children as they have a playground area with caregivers.

Close to Praia do Centro, on the other side of the Peruíbe River, is Praia do Costão. There you will find a less urban environment, more vegetation and just a kiosk in your right corner. (There are also some trailers that sell drinks and snacks on the sand!)

Entering the Ecological Station of Juréia-Itatins, the two beaches closest to the center are Prainha (4 km) and Praia de Guaraú (8 km).

Prainha has no structure and is, in my opinion, one of the best beaches in Peruíbe.

Praia de Guaraú is also very beautiful and worth a visit, however, it has a different vibe from Prainha. In Guaraú, you will have a much longer piece of sand and kiosks facing the sea.

Finally, some wild beaches in Peruíbe, further away, are: Praia do Arpoador, Praia do Carambore, Praia do Guarauzinho, Praia do Índio, Praia do Una and Praia Parnapoa.

Second tip: Take a boat ride

As a good beach destination, one of the things to do in Peruíbe is a boat trip. In this case, the tour I recommend is the one that goes to Ilha do Guaraú and Praia do Arpoador.

A local recommendation is to contact the owners of the boats directly, we recommend the "Dido" but there are others that are found in the port of Guaraú. If you want insurance on your tour, contact the local agencies.

We recommend starting the adventure early in the morning.

The first stop of the activity is usually at Ilha do Guaraú, where travelers have about 1 hour to dive and have fun in the water.

Make an appointment to visit one of the most beautiful beaches in the Juréia-Itatins Preservation Unit: Praia do Arpoador.

Accessible only by boat, or through long trails that must be done with the accompaniment of a guide, Praia do Arpoador is wild, with open sea and without any structure.

As the stop there can last from two to three or hours, that is, the return of the tour is only after lunch time, you must bring enough water and snacks for that time.

Also, make sure you wear sunscreen, take repellent and all the paraphernalia you need to spend those hours at the beach.

How to take the boat tour in Peruíbe

As I said above you can go straight to the port of guarau.

But there are companies that do extra tours with a guide and it's really worth it.

Examples of some companies:

  • Dido
  • Eco Trails itinerary
  • Ecotur Ecological Tours

On average the values are per person but they close packages.

Some tours are held daily but others need to be arranged.

Third tip: Take a Jeep tour

In addition to the boat tour, another tour that you can include in the schedule of your trip to Peruíbe is a jeep or gardener tour.

The main agency that offers this activity is Eco Tour Ecological Tours, and the tour takes place daily, as long as it has at least 4 people. Therefore, I recommend that you contact the company in advance to demonstrate your interest and schedule for the day you have departure.

Although the Eco Tour Passeios Ecológicas has more than one tour itinerary, the most traditional one is the one that goes to Corredeiras do Perequê, Praia do Carambore and Praia da Barra do Una.

The tour lasts all day, approximately from 8 am to 5 pm, price per person, with children up to 5 years old free of charge. In addition, during the tour there is a stop for lunch, which is optional, value per person.

Fourth tip: Trails and Waterfalls

In addition to the beaches and tours already indicated in this list of things to do in Peruíbe, the city also offers many other attractions in the midst of nature.

For those who like waterfalls, the two most famous in the region are Cachoeira do Perequê and Cachoeira do Paraíso.

If you are motorized, you can get to both on your own. Even after parking the car you won't need to walk as much in any of them. However, keep in mind that the road there is a bit boring – go carefully and avoid going on rainy days.

For those who do not have a car, some agencies offer tours to Cachoeira do Paraíso, but the departures are not daily. Prices vary.

In addition, you can also get to Cachoeira do Paraíso by bus, spending less than R$ 5.00. With the mood to rock on a circular for almost an hour, just take the bus that goes to Barra do Una, and tell the driver that you want to get off at Cachoeira do Paraíso (the stop is very close to the waterfall access point!) .

But be careful: before going, check the round-trip times for the buses to Barra do Una because there are very few departures per day. You can see the current timetable on the website of the company responsible for public transport from Peruíbe, Jundiá.

The buses to Praia da Barra do Una leave from the stop in front of the UPA (Emergency Care Unit), and pass through some streets close to the center, including the street of the city's bus station.

Regarding the trails, you must do them with the accompaniment of a guide, after all, you will be in an area of environmental preservation. The most classic route is the Sete Praias Trail, which passes through the beaches of Carambore, Desertinha, Juquiazinho, Paranapuã, Arpoador, Brava and Guarauazinho.

Roteiros Eco Trilhas offers this tour, but the departures are on specific dates, so if you are interested, check in advance.

Fifth tip: Go for a walk in the center at night

One of the main things to do in Peruíbe at night is strolling around its downtown area. That's because, in addition to many shops in general, you'll find some bars and restaurants to end the day.

The main hubbub in the center is at Praça Ambrósio Baldin – also known as Boulevard. In this region there is a huge concentration of shops, food trailers and snack bars.

In addition, it is in these parts that you will also find a small amusement park, which can be a good pastime for those with children.

If you don't find anything that satisfies your stomach at Praça Ambrósio Baldin, along Avenida Padre Anchieta – one of the main avenues in the city – there are other restaurant options.

Now, on the seafront of Praia do Centro de Peruíbe, there are some restaurant options such as Thalassa and Bar Rock Toten.

# What to do in Peruíbe with rain?

The rain won't totally spoil your trip!! Of course, for safety reasons some tour options are closed.

Casa Mar Peruibe has a variety of channels for watching movies.

In addition, many restaurants work with the delivery system such as pizzerias and hamburgers!

Take advantage of the rainy days to lie in the hammock, read a book and catch up with the kids or husband!

Don't want to give up leg-beating these days? Enjoy the good coffee shops in the center of Peruíbe.

Spending a rainy afternoon at Pão de Açã, Café Farol or Café Paris will definitely make your rainy afternoon or morning worthwhile!

+ What else to do in Peruibe

There are still some tourist attractions in Peruíbe that, depending on your profile and available time, may make sense to include in your travel itinerary.

At the entrance to the city, nine kilometers from the center, the Ruínas do Abarebebê is one of the postcards of Peruíbe. It is what remains of one of the first churches built in Brazil.

Relatively close to the ruins, the Mirante da Torre would be a possibility to see the city from above.

Near the city center there are three attractions practically next to each other: the Peruíbe Aquarium, the Lamário and the Fish Market.

In the Fish Market there are some stalls where you can have seafood lunch for a very friendly price. In addition, it is also possible to buy your own fish and ask the staff at the kiosks and stalls to prepare it.

Finally, if you have free days in your schedule, consider taking a day trip to visit the beaches of Itanhaém. After all, this other city on the coast of São Paulo is just 30 kilometers from Peruíbe.
